DANVERS — Thirty-five of the best high school football players in the region were honored at the first annual Salem News All-Star Banquet at Danversport Yacht Club on Tuesday evening.
The Falcons were well-represented, with four seniors honored: From left, Matt Andreas, RB/DB, Dean Borders, QB/DB, Kieran Moriarty, TE/DE, and Quintin Holland, FB/LB.
Matt Andreas was also given the top honor of Salem News MVP, chosen by a vote of the sports writers.
Mark Bavaro, DHS alum and two-time NFL Super Bowl champion, was the guest speaker at the banquet of 180 guests.
Thank you for Mrs. A, Mr. Strout, Mr. St. Pierre, Coach Theriault, Coach Nolan and Coach Loveless who all attended to support their Falcons.
Please consider donating to this fund to help Nick Valles, former DHS football standout. Nick was recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. https://www.gofundme.com/crushing-cancer Thank you DHS Football Community for helping the Valles family.
LUCKY WINNER OF $5,000!
Congratulations to Falcons mom Mindy Murphy, who won the DHS Football Boosters’ annual Thanksgiving Day raffle. The Boosters sold 100 tickets for $100 apiece, with the grand prize offering of $5,000. Alex “AT” Taylor — who won the day’s 50-50 raffle — pulled the winning ticket #70 at halftime.
It’s safe to say that Mindy was pretty psyched when told the great news (as captured by these photos taken at the Turkey Day game). CONGRATS to Mindy and the Murphy Family!
THANK YOU to our GENEROUS TEAM DINNER SPONSORS!
Please frequent these Danvers restaurants and thank them for supporting our football program. Each of these restaurants has donated an entire team dinner — enough great food to feed the entire football team and coaches. (That’s a lot of food!)
